Bird Meets A Nice Older Couple, Decides To Keep Them

Sometimes, the warmth and love of family can be found in the unlikeliest of places. But for Yoshiko Fujino and her husband, two grandparents in Japan, it actually found them - in the form of a friendly sparrow.

After work one day last November, Yoshiko was approached by the little bird who, inexplicably, decided to follow her home. Reuters UK recently caught up with the Fujinos to learn more about the sweet sparrow, and the difference he's made in their lives ever since.

"He's like a family member - he's very comforting. It's fun, coming home to a sparrow," Yoshiko said. "My grandchildren have grown up, and there's none who are still small, so I don't know how to say it clearly, but he's like a family member."
