This Sea Lion's Friends Are Never Going To Believe Him
Almost all of today's top surfers are human, but a new video filmed off Mexico's Baja Peninsula proves that our fin-footed cousins are no less talented at hanging ten.
According to uploaderWhaleOfATime, this surfing sea lion was just looking for a place to rest his barking flippers when he ended up catching the ride of his life instead.
"Man, I'm beat."
"Hmm, this looks like a good place to stop."
"Oh wait, oh no, OH SHIII - "
After a similar incident featuring the closely related (and commonly confused) fur seal was caught on camera earlier this year, Australian wildlife expert Geoff Ross said that such cases were rare, but not completely unheard of.
"The only other time was a seal trying to get away from a killer whale," Ross told the Sydney Morning Herald. "The seal hopped on the back of the pectoral fins of a humpback whale."
