Russia Sends Puppy To France In Beautiful Display Of Solidarity

After the death of French police dog Diesel during an anti-terrorism raid this week, Russia has sent France a puppy named Dobrynia.

"This dog will be handed to France in a testament of solidarity with the French people," the Russian Interior Ministry tweeted on Friday.

A suicide bomber killed Diesel in the line of duty during a raid in connection with last week's terrorist attacks in Paris, which killed 130 people. French National Police called Diesel's role in the operation "indispensable."

After Diesel's death, animals around the world paid tribute to the fallen canine hero. The hashtag #JeSuisChien and #JeSuisDiesel emerged in a showing of support and gratitude.

While no one can replace Diesel, little Dobrynia is a hopeful sight for sad eyes.

Named for a brave knight in Russian folklore, he's surely a little hero already in the making.
