Step 1: Complete Application
Please complete the adoption application. Once received, we will review and process your application within 1-2 weeks. Please email [email protected] if you do not receive a confirmation of completion. We do our best to promptly respond to each email, inquiry, and application. Please monitor your email account (and check spam) and phone to ensure we can contact you.
Step 2: Conducting Interviews
Our approval process includes conversations with your property owner or landlord (if applicable), veterinarian, personal references, you, and the other residents of your home. Please be sure all of these contacts are expecting our call to avoid delays in processing your application. You’re welcome to follow up with us via email if you are concerned about your application status.
Step 3: Homes Visit and Meets-and-Greets
We will also conduct a home visit and schedule any necessary meets with the dog upon approval.
Why was my application denied?
There are several reasons we may deny your application. These reasons include but are not limited to: negative feedback from your vet or references, lack of permission from your landlord, failed home visit, lack of understanding of needs of rescue dogs, young age, your location, or if your name found on a “do not adopt” list.
Adoption Incentive Programs
Emotional Support Animal
When you provide a certified ESA letter with your adoption application, dogs one year and over have a $100 adoption fee, and dogs under one year will be $100 off the adoption fee.
Professional Training
Adopters who provide proof of having signed up for a package of a minimum of 3 training classes at the time of signing the adoption agreement will not be required to pay a training deposit.
Military, Veterans, and First Responders
We offer $100 off dog adoptions and $50 off cat adoptions for anyone with proof of active military, veteran military status or if you provide law enforcement or first responder identification.
Required Deposits
Puppies are altered before adoption, typically at 8-10 weeks of age. However, if a puppy is unable to undergo surgery before adoption, the adoption fee is $495 plus a $150 refundable spay/neuter deposit. We will refund you the $150 after receiving proof (medical record) of the spay or neuter.
We will require a refundable $100 training deposit at the time of the contract for all dogs once your application is approved.
