Tails of the West Donkey Rescue

We are a fully committed 501(c)3 Non Profit Donkey &amp; Wild Burro Sanctuary. We are devoted to saving the lives of as many donkeys as we can. Our doors are open to unwanted donkeys as well as those that have landed in high risk situations. Many of our rescues are saved from kill pens &amp; feedlots destined to be slaughtered. We understand at times situations occur that some are not able to care for their donkeys, we offer sanctuary to those in need by placing their donkeys in a safe environment here with us at Tails of the West. Our resident donkeys are incredibly special to us and our mission is to provide them with life long loving care. We do offer adoption upon approved application. We made the commitment to transition in 2019 from a farm animal sanctuary to All Donkey &amp; Wild Burro. From childhood to present day Donkeys have always been a part of my life. Our family rescued BLM Wild Burros in the late 70’s. We choose to be advocates for donkeys and wild burros as we feel they are the little guys that do not receive the attention &amp; awareness they deserve. They Wild Burros are the little gems of the West. They to like their cousins the Wild Mustangs are being rounded up and shipped to auctions, where many sadly do not end up adopted and then become destined for slaughter. We want to be a voice for ALL Donkeys &amp; Wild Burros, we want to put a stop to the slaughter. The mission of Tails of the West is to be an advocate, spread awareness and provide loving sanctuary for donkeys &amp; Wild Burros in need. 

 We are so grateful to have the ability to surround ourselves with not just donkeys but many animals. We encourage everyone to get out and visit your local sanctuary and make some animal friends! 

 Compassion goes a long way. Be compassionate, consider making changes, big or small, in your everyday life that would provide a better life for an animal. When we become aware and our eyes are open, it’s easy to see how the smallest changes in lives could be worth a life to an animal. We are committed to rescuing and providing as many donkeys as humanly possible a forever loving home.  We are committed to being a voice for all the voiceless.  For every monthly donor we have, we are afforded  the ability to rescue, rehab and provide forever homes to Wild Burros &amp; Donkeys that have landed in high risk situations.
